It certainly must have given food for thought to rivals like UberEats &amp; Zomato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the companies have not divulged the deal size yet, sources have guesstimated the stock-based acquisition to under $50 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To spice things up further, Ola is raising $200 million for Foodpanda India, which claims over 12,000 restaurant partners in 100+ cities. Needless to say, that investment alone points out a deep pockets maneuver. While this seems to be turning out to be a bang-up deal, there\u2019s a big challenge ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Foodpanda hasn\u2019t quite picked up in India as intended. The organization ran into some troubles with operations including<a href=\"http:\/\/www.livemint.com\/Companies\/rYKC6HjnShogjE62jO5lpK\/The-trouble-with-Foodpanda.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\"> temperamental services and fake listings<\/a> &#8211; all of this while they fired more than 300 of its employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ola seemed to have taken the \u2018Fail better\u2019 proverb to heart this time, as this isn\u2019t Ola\u2019s first move into food. The previous involvement &#8211; Ola Cafe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livemint.com\/Companies\/qTH56jdQU0l3NUjLb8wBhL\/Ola-shuts-Ola-Caf-a-year-after-its-launch.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">shut down<\/a> in 2016 under a year after operating. The Delivery Hero Group expects the partnership with Ola, will somehow allow the company to promote solidified markets, where it makes some sense to cooperate with leading names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncrypted.net\/blog\/on-demand-business-model\/\" title=\"The Fundamentals of On Demand Business Model: Everything you need to know about how does on demand work?\">on-demand<\/a> Food Delivery Business\u00a0is flourishing.
